God calls us to humility so that we may draw nearer to him and so resist the devil. Selfishness opposes submission which in turn prevents us from resisting the devil. Selfishness causes hatred, quarrel and strife.

So often, when tricky situations smack us in the face, our first instinct is to run and hide as Elijah did (1 Kings 19). Remember whenever it looks like we are at the end, God is only just beginning. Be encouraged, as you listen and may you be blessed in your walk.
