How it began

On March 27, 2017, at 5:45 pm, my beautiful sister and friend, Susannah “Lucille Peale” Lindsey, went to sleep after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer, leaving a massive void in my life that of my immediate and extended family. To say Lucille was the glue that connected the siblings – the entire family would be a gross understatement, although some would challenge me on this point. 

As an Ordained Minister, I have counselled family, friends, acquaintances and people I did not know about the effects of grief. Still, when I lost my sister, the pain I experienced was deep and different. The truth is, many people cannot imagine the actual pain I continue to feel without having my sister around. Like you, I am here to seek Renewal and Wholeness in the safety of this community with friends or soon to be friends.

To compound the grief, losing my mother this past October dealt me an uppercut that added to the pain of losing my brother in November 2016; my mother in law in January 2016; my aunt in October 2015; my beautiful niece in February 2012 and my father at the age of 20 – a loss I know I did not deal with. More about them at PAALM, but reflecting on these losses brought back the real purpose of ministry.

Living in the darkness of a broken world, where debilitating grief sucks out joy that moves people towards renewal and wholeness – physical and spiritual – I commit to be the ‘hands and feet of Jesus’ to all.

Knowing I am a minister of the gospel, you may expect this page to be another “Christological “ and scripture laden site, and to some degree, you are correct. As a pastor, you can expect that I will rely on God’s Word and my faith in response to those who hurt; however, be assured that the goal of this ministry is to focus on the whole person, with spiritual and physical needs as created in the image of God to live full and wholesome lives even amid deep grief and pain.

That is why I am pleased, delighted and honored to welcome “you, you and you” to join the Circle of Light (COL): Ministry of Renewal and Wholeness (MRW) as together we embrace the light as darkness is replaced by light as God’s healing love encircle each one open to receiving that love.
